Simba is our Bernese mountain dog. She was given to us when she was  a puppy because she was very overactive and used to knock things over with her long tail. She was born in Holland, so one can say she is an oley hadash, new immigrant to Israel. She has a wonderful easy nature, very good with children. Each morning she goes to each of our kids and wakes them up by licking their foreheads. She is also a great security dog. If anyone comes into our garden she is barking, warning us that someone has arrived at our house. Her tail is a problem in winter, but during the Israeli summer season, she waves her tail and fans are never needed to cool us down. Everyone in our household regards Simba as one of the family, and if we go out for as little as ten minutes, she is waiting excitedly bouncing up and down to greet us as we return home. If anyone has thought about having a Bernese Mountain Dog, I can surely say that our beautiful Simba is a fine ambassador to the breed.
